Considering contemporary music videos anyone can tell what a MODEST video this is. Yet men on social media comment that "this is what she deserves for displaying her body on the internet". This man was the one who SUPPORTED his daughter, all through her childhood days to make her a tennis star. Now, that she has BECOME one he is ashamed of her and KILLS HER. WHY?

Because unlike her childhood days, when the father could've directly claimed the success of his daughter as a result of his own efforts, directly or partially; but ultimately emerging from an environment under his CONTROL, his Authority, the "privilege" he has granted (or created depending on how massively huge his ego is) to her...she OWNS her success now. She is an adult, independent, and responsible for herself INCLUDING her success. 

She EARNS, she DECIDES, she RUNS her own academy, she stars in a video; she controls her life and money. And that is what he couldn’t bear. That his HONOUR now depended on his daughter’s independence, not his CONTROL of her. It exposes how fragile this so-called honour really is: it feeds off women’s sacrifice, obedience, and silence; but once a woman steps out of the cage she was trained in, suddenly she becomes a threat to the very men who once “allowed” her to dream.

This is why this is NOT just about “a father and daughter”; it’s about how deep-rooted misogyny uses “honour” as a weapon to snatch back any freedom a woman dares to claim. It’s about a society that would rather see a woman dead than see her live unapologetically on her own terms.
